Prime Minister Imre Nagy and his companions were executed in courtyard of the Small Prison on 16 June 1958 and were reburied years later  in secret in plot 301 under various pseudonyms. Their reburial ceremony, a symbolic moment of political transformation from Communism, was broadcast live by Hungarian Television on 16 June 1989. This video is an edited, shorter version of this event, and the individual speeches can also be viewed individually in chronological order. Each speech contains a brief description of the speaker’s political role in 1956 and at the time of the political changes in 1989. The videos are available in the Visitor Centre.
